Business & IT Value

From the editor-in-chief

For almost 40 years this magazine has brought you the reflections of specialists on IT developments in the fields of management, control, organization and improvement of information technology. I am very proud to present this new international edition of Compact, which covers a selection of new articles as well as articles published in the Dutch edition of Compact during the last year. It serves as an update on recent developments in some of the fields we are working on with our clients. The articles in Compact focus on the technological, organizational and human aspects of IT, and aim to facilitate and promote knowledge sharing and research on these aspects.

In recent years we have increasingly been reporting on global developments in IT. Of course we also see differences between regions and countries, but the developments in IT are truly global. If we want to serve our clients to lead them through the next 40 years of IT development, we need this global mindset. That’s our vision, and it is the main reason why we will continue publishing editions in English and gathering more contributions from specialists all over the world.

The magazine Compact is now also available on iPad and iPhone. This gives you direct access any time to all editions of the magazine starting from 2012, so you can easily find and read articles you would like to (re-)consult. Therefore, if you wish to keep current with what’s going on in your area, simply download the Compact app to your iPad and/or iPhone. You can find the download in the App Store by using the search term “Compact”. For earlier international editions of Compact, or additional background information, visit the English page on our website: www.compact.nl/service/english_articles.htm.

We hope you enjoy this edition and gain insight from the ideas and advice it offers. If you would like to explore these ideas and concepts further, we welcome you to contact us or any of the contributing authors.
